Women's Health Problems can be Treated
Womens health problems are more common than you might think, with 1 in 3 women suffering from issues such as incontinence, pelvic pain, or prolapse. These commonly occur during or after pregnancy but can occur for other reasons.
The symptoms associated with women’s health problems can have a huge impact on your life but all to often get ignored. This is usually because people are unaware that these problems can be treated but, more often than not, women are too embarrassed to seek help.
The good news – in many cases, these problems can be cured or at the very least more effectively managed.
How Women’s Health Physiotherapy Can Help You
It’s all about your pelvic floor, which is a group of muscles often described as a ‘hammock’ that lifts and supports the pelvic organs. When these muscles aren’t working properly or become weak, you might start to experience incontinence, prolapse or pelvic pain. They become weak for many reasons but a structure exercise program can strengthen them and reverse symptoms in the majority of case.
Our specialist women’s health physio, Steph Peisker, will help by finding out what’s causing the symptoms and prescribe a bespoke rehabilitation program to retrain the muscles.
