Helen Moir joins Capital Physio with over 33 years experience having graduated from Manchester Royal Infirmary in 1986. During her time, she has developed a wealth of experience in her career. She has worked at a number of hospitals across the north-east as well as a private clinic in Leverkusen, Germany. More recently Helen has worked in the community through North and North East Lincolnshire.
Helen has worked with patients with both musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. She’s treated those with multiple pathologies requiring rehabilitation and balance training as well as those with moving and handling issues. Over the years, Helen has both trained physiotherapy students and supervised junior staff.
Using her varied and broad experience and knowledge, Helen is able to assist patients to manage their conditions and provide rehab programmes to achieve optimal outcomes. She achieves this using a holistic approach. Her studies have included; Bobath training, Society of Orthopaedic Medicine training for the treatment of the upper and lower limbs back and neck.
Earlier this year she completed the matwork certification with the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute, which uses Pilates as tool for rehabilitation and is continuing to develop her skills in this area.
Outside of work, Helen plays golf and enjoys Pilates and cycling within Europe. Helen is leading Pilates classes for the health and wellbeing of the local community. She also enjoys languages, having taken her studies in German post A-level to complete accreditations at the University of Teeside. Additionally, Helen is a fan of reading and part of a local book club.
